I feel like I’m in an extreme minority, because I loved Gokaiger and I miss Gokaiger, but I am already in love with Gobusters and can’t wait for more of it.
What exactly is the point in comparing them to one another? What is the point in comparing any previous season to Gokaiger, or really any single season of Sentai to any other single season of Sentai?
There is no point. If you don’t like Gobusters, great! Don’t watch it! How hard is that?
It’s always okay to do a little compare and contrast, especially with things of a similar aesthetic, but some people tend to let it get way out of hand by completely putting down a show based on another one. Personally I don’t hate Gobusters and I pretty much love all the choices they’ve made on the style and technical sides. It seems like they’re trying to take things in a new direction and I really like that. That being said, I DEFINITELY miss Gokaiger, mainly because of the characters. Even with all the nostalgia being thrown around on that show, all of the characters struck a chord with me and the Gokaigers, individually and as a whole, are my favorite sentai team. With only one episode it’s really hard to judge what the Gobusters are gonna be like, so I’ll stay tuned. At least it isn’t Goseiger, where no detail of that show could salvage it for me (Sorry Goseiger fans…if you exist). Wow, that turned into a semi-rant real quick.
